Lip blush healing: what to expect, week by week
By Aleksandra Zając · · 3 min read
Lip blush heals in stages, and knowing what is normal makes the process far less stressful. Here is the general timeline clients can expect.
The first 24–48 hours
Mild swelling is normal and usually settles within 24–48 hours. The colour will look brighter and stronger than the final result at this stage.
The first week
As the lips heal, the colour fades by around 30–50%. This is completely expected — many clients worry the pigment has disappeared, but it is simply settling beneath the healing skin.
Weeks four to six
The full, even colour appears after 4–6 weeks. This is when the result can be judged properly, and when the included touch-up can perfect the tone and outline.
A note on cold sores
If you are prone to cold sores, tell us at your consultation. Clients prone to cold sores should take antiviral medication before the procedure.
