How long do ombre brows last?

It is the first question almost every client asks. The honest answer: ombre brows typically last between one and three years. Where you land in that range depends on your skin, your lifestyle and how you look after your brows while they heal.

Why the range is so wide

Ombre brows are created with a machine shading technique that places ultra-fine pixels of pigment into the skin. Over time the body gradually breaks that pigment down, so the colour softens rather than disappearing overnight.

Aftercare, the pigment used and everyday factors all play a part. That is why longevity is always given as a range rather than a promise.

    The first 4–6 weeks

Straight after your appointment the brows look stronger than the final result. Over the next 4–6 weeks the colour settles and softens into the powdery, natural finish ombre brows are known for. Judge the result once healing is complete, not on day one.

    Why the touch-up matters

Skin does not always hold pigment evenly the first time. The touch-up is where shape and colour are perfected once healed. At Studio 11 the touch-up is already included in the £290 price, together with the consultation and brow mapping.

    When the colour fades

Because ombre brows soften gradually, they fade gracefully. When you feel they have become too light, a new appointment refreshes the colour. If old PMU from elsewhere has faded to an unwanted tone, laser removal can lighten it first.
